The World Equestrian Center Dressage and Hampton Green Farm announce The World Equestrian Center’s Iberian Showcase weekend, October 17-20, 2024. In addition to the national USDF rated dressage show, special events and awards have been planned for owners, riders, and enthusiasts of Iberian (Spanish and Portuguese) horses.
The Iberian Horse is perhaps the world's most celebrated race of equines, having a long, rich and royal history in war, sport, art and work. Today, the ancient breed of horse is protected and promoted by the official studbooks of Spain and Portugal, with the Horse of Spain now known as the PRE (Pura Raza Espanola) and the Horse of Portugal as the Lusitano.
The unmatched beauty, noble character and awe-inspiring athleticism of the Iberian breeds are recognized around the world. Now, a weekend dedicated to the Iberian Horse is bringing together enthusiasts and lovers of the PRE and Lusitano horses, combining dressage, morphology, exhibitions, specialty shopping and high level performances in one magnificent location--the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Florida.
This year, activities will begin with the USLA Annual Convention on Tuesday, IBERICON trade show opening on Thursday, and other activities. The official start of the event-filled weekend will be the Kick-Off Gala on Thursday night at the Golden Ocala Country Club. Friday and Saturday nights will feature the Iberian Horse Spectacular musical fantasy, while IBERICON, USEF Dressage show, The Iberian Cup, Master Classes, and PRE and Lusitano breed classes will be held throughout the weekend.
